Vogelbescherming
When KesselsKramer approached PlusOne on behalf of Vogelbescherming Nederland — a campaign raising awareness on endangered bird species — they came with a beautiful set of watercolour illustrations and a brief that pointed toward 3D. It felt like the wrong direction, both creatively and practically, so I proposed a 2D approach that would stay true to the quality of the illustrations. They weren't immediately convinced, but a test changed that. It was the beginning of a really enjoyable working relationship, and a reminder that sometimes a well-timed test is worth a thousand words.
There was a second chapter to the Vogelbescherming campaign — no animation this time, but a good excuse to dust off the compositing toolkit.
