Some projects take you somewhere unexpected — in this case, quite literally. Working with Ecco Leather on their collaboration with AGFA meant a factory visit that turned into a genuine education in leather craftsmanship, before we even started thinking about the film.

The brief centred on a remarkable new printing technology: a machine capable of printing on leather with a level of sharpness, quality and material innovation — including entirely new reflective finishes — that hadn't existed before. We organised a shoot on location, then built a series of animated sequences around it, each one becoming progressively more detailed and complex as the film unfolds — mirroring the precision of the technology itself.

One of those nice reminders that interesting work can come from right on your doorstep.
